The Tennessee Volunteers are seeking a return to prominence under head coach Jeremy Pruitt. Winning on the recruiting trail is how Pruitt can get this done sooner than later.

One player the Vols are coveting is linebacker Terrence Lewis, who is a 5-star recruit out of Florida in the class of 2021. He has interest from other top SEC programs such as Alabama and Texas A&M, but the latest rumor is that he is leaning toward the Volunteers at this point in time.

The 6-1 outside linebacker is considered one of the top players at his position nationally and would be a huge win in recruiting for Pruitt. If Tennessee can beat out schools like Alabama for Florida recruits, the team can look to cut into of Alabama's dominance in the region. Pruitt and his staff are already off to a great start for 2021.

The Volunteers had the No. 10 overall 2020 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. The team has not even won 10 games since 2007, but landing a prospect like Lewis would continue to make the team better on paper.

The key for Pruitt and his coaches is to develop the top recruits and turn the hype into victories.
