5-Star LSU DB Commit Officially Shuts Down Recruitment After Tigers Win
By Jerry Trotta
The LSU Tigers put the college football world on notice on Saturday when they defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa by a final score of 46-41 to improve to 9-0 on the year.
It was arguably the biggest win of Ed Orgeron's career and his squad is now in pole position to represent the SEC West in the SEC Title Game, a feat that should see them named to the College Football Playoff when all is said and done.
Well, the massive dub seems to have inspired one particular 2020 commit, five-star defensive back Elias Ricks, who officially shut down his recruitment and declared for LSU just moments after the clock showed zeroes.
The night is still young, but we're honestly not sure how it can get any better for LSU. Ricks originally committed to the Tigers over Alabama (and Georgia), and him shutting down his recruitment should serve as a second L for Nick Saban and Co. to take away from Saturday night.
Honestly, Ricks couldn't have picked a more perfect time to make his future in gold and purple threads officially official. Alabama is LSU's most loathed rival, and the Tigers disposed of them in their own backyard.
Good on you, young fella.
