76ers Get Relatively Positive Injury Update After Joel Embiid MRI
By Jackson Thompson

The Philadelphia 76ers' week of turmoil got a reprieve on Thursday. Injured center Joel Embiid underwent an MRI, and it revealed that the Sixers star has no structural damage on his left shoulder.
Embiid went down during Wednesday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, when he collided with Ante Zizic while looking to gain position in the post, grabbing at his left shoulder in apparent pain. He will be re-evaluated in a week.

Embiid, who made the All-Star team along with point forward Ben Simmons (who is also injured), must regain full health by the time the playoffs come around should Philly want a chance at a Conference championship. As of now, the 76ers own the fifth seed in the East.

With a win on Thursday against the lowly New York Knicks, the Sixers have already minimized the damage from the two devastating injuries. Yet, a more difficult stretch of games looms, including contests against the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers.
