76ers' Shake Milton Ties NBA 3-Point Shooting Record Against Clippers and That's Ridiculous
By Will Coleman
Due to the constant increase in 3-point shooting across the league, it's never been more difficult to break some of the NBA's most illustrious shooting records from behind the arc.
One player came close to breaking the all-time record for consecutive 3-pointers made in a single season on Sunday, but came up just shy and was forced to settle for a tie. It wasn't James Harden or Trae Young, and it certainly wasn't Stephen Curry.
No, it was 76ers role player Shake Milton, who sunk 13 straight 3s across a three-game stretch.
Milton's prolific shooting display saw him tie the record which was held by Brent Price and Terry Mills.
Milton went 4-for-6 from deep Wednesday against the Cavs (sinking his final four shots) before going a perfect 5-for-5 Thursday against the Knicks. The 23-year old continued his hot streak Sunday against the Clippers by sinking his first five attempts to tie the record. Milton had a chance to make history in the fourth quarter on his sixth attempt but he missed on a 23-foot shot from the left corner.
Milton has now converted on at least four 3-pointers in four of his last five games. The 76ers needed a source of offense more than ever with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid injured, and Milton has stepped up in the biggest way possible.
The former SMU star was somewhat of an NBA afterthought just a few weeks ago. Now, he's a joint-record holder after his hot streak from deep.
