76ers Star Center Joel Embiid Undergoes Surgery on Left Hand
By Karl Rasmussen

The Philadelphia 76ers will be forced to continue their push in a top-heavy Eastern Conference without star center Joel Embiid for at least a couple of weeks.
After suffering a torn radial collateral ligament in the fourth metacarpal in his left hand, Embiid underwent surgery on Friday. He's expected to be reevaluated in 1-2 weeks, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

Embiid will be sorely missed by a Sixers team currently sitting in fifth in the East at 25-14. The 76ers hold a 1.5-game lead over the Pacers, and are just a half game behind the Raptors.
The 76ers' big man is averaging 23.4 points, 12.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks across 31 games this year. He's shooting 47.2% from the field and 32.2% from beyond the arc.

Embiid suffered the injury against the Thunder on Monday, however he managed to return to the game after a quick trip to the locker room. He didn't suit up on Thursday against the Celtics, and now it's been determined that he won't be on the hardwood for a while.
With tough matchups against the Mavericks and Pacers looming, the Sixers will hope to get it done without their star center.
