A Bunch of Fans Are Convinced This Harmless Jason Kidd Tweet is a Shot at Frank Vogel
By Sam Dunn

Folks, the Los Angeles Lakers have played one game of basketball in this new NBA season, but even before they had, the Twitterverse attempted to gin up controversy in truly annoying, unnecessary fashion.
Let us set the scene. Take a look at this tweet from Jason Kidd, who joined Frank Vogel's staff as an assistant shortly after the latter's hiring.
A new chapter of @Lakers basketball begins tonight. #Gameday #LakeShow pic.twitter.com/zY5NCAu930

There's nothing untoward about this, is there? It's just kind of, like, a photo. With a caption. Jason Kidd tweeted a picture of Jason Kidd, plus some of the Lakers' players.
Somehow, the interwebs were not having it, instead insisting upon some kind of anti-Vogel conspiracy theory.
He’s actually right there lol pic.twitter.com/ZVH0vaKDP1

For reference, Frank Vogel previously led Indiana to the Eastern Conference Finals while Jason Kidd had already been fired by two NBA teams before his 45th birthday-- including one that featured Giannis Antetokounmpo.

I actually hear he's paid quite well.
It's a shame that the digital snipers out there want to push this coup d'etat narrative. But this is LA, after all. Even when the season starts, the silly season doesn't necessarily end.
