Aaron Boone Has Classy Response to Umpire After Being Ejected for NSFW Tirade
By Michael Luciano
The Yankees will be without manager Aaron Boone as they prepare to do battle with the Colorado Rockies, as Boone was handed a one-game suspension after a legendarily vulgar rant against home plate umpire Brennan Miller. Boone took particular exception to a couple of questionable strike calls and was tossed in the second inning on Thursday.
Rather than dig his heels in and continue railing against Miller and umpires in general, Boone took the high road and offered a pseudo-apology for his actions.
There's one of two ways to view this, either the usually frank Boone has realized how he appeared on TV and apologized out of the goodness of his heart, or he's still fuming mad and is trying to avoid another fine for mouthing off against umpires.
Boone went as far as to credit Miller for officiating a "really good game," a far different stance than he took in the heat of the moment.
At the very least, Boone birthed the "f***ing savages" quote that will likely stick with the Yankees for the rest of the season, so long as they keep hitting the way they have been of late.
