Aaron Boone Has No Plans to Drop Aaron Judge in Lineup but He Should
By Parker White
Cameron Maybin and Mike Tauchman have been great additions to this New York Yankees team, and they've done some heavy lifting when the big boys have been out due to injury.
However, when October rolls around, for this team to thrive they need Aaron Judge to produce like the monster he is at the top of the lineup. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case.
Judge is not driving the ball with authority, especially to the pull side, and he's striking out with too much frequency. It makes you wonder if his injured oblique has healed enough to where he's not favoring it in the box?
No matter the reason for his elongated slump, it might be best for manager Aaron Boone to move him down in the batting order. When asked about it after last night's blowout loss, Boone was pretty straightforward about not making that move.
Boone is absolutely correct when he talks about how difficult the game is and how even the greats go through tough stretches. However, the last two months haven't been kind to the Yankee slugger.
Obviously, this shouldn't be a permanent thing, but it might be best for the time being if he drops down in the lineup and works on some things with not as much pressure as he has hitting towards the top.
