Aaron Boone Provides Positive Update on Didi Gregorius' Injury
By Michael Luciano
When Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius left their Sunday Night matchup against Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Yankees fans could only shake their heads in disbelief and laugh, as it appeared yet another injury to a marquee player had befallen them yet again.
Luckily for the blood pressure of everyone in the Bronx, manager Aaron Boone has calmed some of the doubt around Didi's injury, claiming that he has a bone bruise behind his right shoulder and implying that he could be healthy enough to play tomorrow against the Seattle Mariners.
After missing a good chunk of the earlier parts of the season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, Gregorius has hit .263 with 13 home runs and 44 RBIs while posting an OPS+ just above league average at 101.
Didi has picked it up of late, serving as the hero in a Yankees' win over the Dodgers in which he hit a grand slam off of MLB ERA leader Hyun-Jin Ryu.
It's good that Didi isn't going to miss a lot of time with this injury, because I don't think that Yankees fans' hearts can take it.
