Aaron Boone Provides Update on Gary Sanchez's Health After Fever Diagnosis

New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez came down with an illness and given the times, there was fear the slugging backstop could be coming down with the widespread coronavirus.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone cleared up any such worries by announcing Sanchez was, in fact, NOT dealing with the latest global health scare, rather he was battling a common flu.
Gary Sanchez doesn’t have the coronavirus, Aaron Boone says. Instead, it’s just a regular flu.

While the hysteria that ensued following the initial word that Sanchez came down with a fever was largely overblown, it's reasonable to understand given the global circumstances. Fortunately, the Yankees and Sanchez avoided the frightening diagnosis, as he tested positive for the normal flu, though it's worth noting he wasn't actually tested for COVID-19.
Gary Sanchez’s flu test came back positive, so he will be away from camp for a few more days. Aaron Boone said that Sanchez was not tested for the coronavirus.

Sanchez has been sent away from camp in order to recuperate and prevent the illness from spreading to other teammates. The last thing the already injury-riddled Yankees need is a health crisis, and they made sure to take extra precaution with their coveted catcher given the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 virus.
No reason to panic, folks. A few days rest and Gary should be good as new.
