Aaron Boone is Now Somehow the Longest Tenured Manager/Coach of New York Teams
By Brady Williams

In surprising news, apparently New York Yankees Manager Aaron Boone has beaten out every head coach and manager in New York. Seriously. His longevity has outranked all nine of the major sports teams. Oh, by the way, he's only been with the Yankees since December of 2017.
New York sports are struggling, we know that. The Yankees look to be MLB favorites, but after that, things look a little bleak. The strange stat isn't strange because of Boone, though.
So Aaron Boone is now the longest tenured Manager/Coach of the 9 major local sports teams.

Boone has led the Yankees to 203 wins with only 121 losses. The Yankees didn't win a World Series in the past decade, but the future no doubt looks bright. So, what's going on with the other major sports teams in the area?
The Mets have just named a brand-new manager in Luis Rojas. Adam Gase of the New York Jets just entered the fold last season, while the Giants have rifled through back to back one-and-done coaches. The Islanders have recently upgraded, hiring Stanley Cup winner Barry Trotz for the 2018-2019 season, while the Rangers gave David Quinn his first job in the driver's seat that same year. The same goes for Chris Armas of the New York Red Bulls. New York City FC's Ronny Deila was just brought in this year. The Knicks have an interim head coach in Mike Miller. Today, the Brooklyn Nets forfeited the honor to Boone by firing Kenny Atkinson. I mean, you can't make this stuff up.

Despite how baffling the stat is, it could spell great things for New York City. While a constant turnover can raise questions of sustainability, so much new talent all at once creates so much potential for one of the nation's best sports towns. Boone is in it for the long haul. Let's see if he's able to bring in World Series No. 28 to the Bronx.
