Aaron Boone Throws Shade at Giancarlo Stanton-Hating Yankee Fans in Postgame Presser Saturday
By Adam Weinrib

Hey, Yankee fans who boo Giancarlo Stanton: Wanted to check in and see if you got a chance to watch Saturday's game?
You know, the one where Stanton knocked the game-winning RBI in with a single, broke an earlier tie which Jonathan Holder later erased, and leapt at the wall to preserve an advantage, too?
Aaron Boone wants to make sure you had your eyes open between boos.
Aaron Boone said "I hope everyone takes note" of Giancarlo Stanton's at-bats tonight. Asked if that was a message for the fans and anyone else, Boone then smiled & said "No... I just... Sometimes we forget what a good player he is. Again, I hope they saw those at-bats." #Yankees

Now, that's how you have your players' backs!
Stanton's a polarizing player, of course. When he strikes out, it looks horrendous, even topped off with a disconcerting "glaze" of a low-effort swing. When he's not hitting, it often lingers, and it doesn't help that he hit .240 at home and .300 on the road in 2018. Often, the paying Yankees customers got the bum half of the Stanton equation.
Luke Voit on fans getting on Giancarlo Stanton: "I mean, you gotta give the guy a break. He's played what, 5 games? You gotta get the feel back... He won MVP for a reason. It's nice having an MVP hit behind you." #Yankees https://t.co/cxWVRQR2vV

But facts are facts: He hasn't messed up the chemistry. He's helped tremendously. He's just getting started. And Aaron Boone wants to make sure you're watching.
