Aaron Hicks Day-to-Day While Battling Right Shoulder Inflammation
By Parker White

Manager Aaron Boone threw everyone for a loop with Aaron Judge returning to the starting lineup and leading off on Friday night, but there are a few usual starters out, including center fielder Aaron Hicks.
This isn't a normal day off for Hicks, however, as he's been dealing with inflammation in his right shoulder that required a cortisone shot.
Aaron Hicks says his right shoulder has been bothering him for about a week and a half. Had an MRI that showed inflammation and got a cortisone shot for it. Says he's still available.

Luckily, Hicks doesn't believe he'll need a stint on the Injured List for it, and he's still available to play; Hicks expects to play Saturday against Houston.
Aaron Hicks says he’s been trying to play through a right (throwing) shoulder injury the past week and a half. Asked if he thought it could be an IL situation, he said no. MRI showed simple inflammation. He’s on Day 2 of a cortisone shot. Told me he thought he’d be in lineup tmrw

Aren't the Yankees glad they kept veteran outfielder Cameron Maybin around? Not only is he doing the job at the plate hitting down in the order, slashing .308/.386/.496 with five home runs and 14 RBI, but he's a versatile defender who can play all three outfield spots.
Hicks missed the start of the season because of an ailing back. He's only played in 27 games, where he's hit .198 with four home runs and 16 RBI.
