Aaron Hicks Not in Wednesday's Yankees Lineup Against Baltimore
By Parker White
The New York Yankees are aiming to win their four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, but they'll do it without one of their regulars.
Center fielder Aaron Hicks is getting the day off, with veteran Brett Gardner taking his place defensively and batting sixth.
Elsewhere in the outfield, Clint Frazier starts in right and hits seventh, and veteran Cameron Maybin will get the start in left field and bat ninth. Hicks missed the first part of the season due to injury, but this is simply a rest day.
This may be a much-needed day off for the veteran, who in six games (22 at-bats) is slashing .182/.321/.318 with 1 home run, 3 RBI and 9 strikeouts.
Another regular, third baseman Gio Urshela, is also not in the starting lineup despite hitting .336 with 2 home runs and 17 RBI. DJ LeMahieu will move over to the hot corner, and Thairo Estrada will get the start at second base.
Veteran designated hitter Kendrys Morales is back in the starting lineup and will bat cleanup behind Gary Sanchez and in front of Gleyber Torres.
