Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres' Best Wishes to Yankees Fans Will Make Them Miss Opening Day in the Bronx
By Brendan Balsamo

Baseball fans are really in a rut on Thursday, as it was supposed to be Opening Day. Instead, Americans are quarantining in their homes without any regular season baseball to hold them over.
New York Yankee fans were especially looking forward to this season, after only missing the World Series by two wins in 2019, and then adding the elite starter Gerrit Cole.
On what was supposed to be a happy day but is instead a day of longing, Yankees stars Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres took to Twitter to send messages to their fans.
Judge first tweeted a loving message along with a picture:
Missing baseball and that opening day excitement. We will be back before we know it. Stay home and stay safe! #OpeningDayAtHome pic.twitter.com/kf2ff2IA9N

Then Torres tweeted a short message with a video of his own:
We miss New York, we miss baseball ... We'll be back soon #OpeningDayAtHome pic.twitter.com/5sP1mTnsFe

This should make any Yankees fan emotional, as both players were in store for big seasons. Judge was about to come back from a broken rib and collapsed lung and hopefully perform at the level he did in 2017, and Torres is coming off a 38 homer, 90 RBI 2019, and is still only 23 years old.
We were supposed to be going to sleep tonight knowing that the next day we’d be watching Opening Day for the Yankees and Gerrit Cole’s first game dominating in pinstripes but instead this is all of us: pic.twitter.com/PPQs6v6oG6

There were big things in store for the Bronx Bombers in 2020, and seeing these two send messages to the fans should only send them into an even deeper depression. Baseball, please come back soon.
