VIDEO: Aaron Judge Talks About Following Derek Jeter and Other Yankee Legends' Legacies With Damian Lillard
By Brady Williams

Despite a litany of injuries that have kept him off the field for a disappointing number of games in his young career, Aaron Judge is arguably the face of the New York Yankees these days. While quarantined, Judge spoke with Damian Lillard of the Portland Trailblazers about that status, and the pair had a great discussion about one of the most storied franchises in the history of baseball.

Lillard calling Judge the next Derek Jeter is no small compliment, but the young slugger took it in stride. He explained what it's like to join a team that's had legends like Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera, and how that affects everything he does and influences the amount of work he puts in.
"[Jeter] paved the way, for sure," the two-time All-Star said. Judge outlined how Jeter's legacy shapes the Yankees' identity.

Judge has a long way to go to reach the status of Jeter, Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio and the host of deified baseball stars who have donned the pinstripes, but in a time where sports fans need a little hope, his reverence is sure to be greatly appreciated by Yankees fans.
