Aaron Rodgers Calls for Country to Open Back Up and Slams 'House Arrest' Lockdowns

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers openly voiced his confusion with the organization taking Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and that wasn't even the most surprising topic he's covered in recent days.

Rodgers claims that the coronavirus-induced lockdown in our nation is akin to house arrest, and that the country should end the lockdown in order to get the millions who are unemployed back to work.

"I think we all were buying into the idea of quarantine to flatten the curve and I think there are a lot of questions now that it's more of a house arrest to find a cure with people wondering exactly what that means as far as the future of the country and the freedoms we're allowed to have at this point," Rodgers said via newstalk1130.

Rodgers failed to grasp that the lockdown is a matter of public health and is a short-term fix, not some long game to restrict freedoms in this country. Yes, the unemployment numbers are awful, but leaders across the country are taking lockdown measures seriously to try and flatten the curve and lower the number of deaths.

Rodgers, who himself has conceded that someone with as much money and fame as him is not the kind of guy who should be telling the masses how to behave in this pandemic, is itching for things to return to normal. Unfortunately, we have some work to do before that can be a reality.
