Aaron Rodgers' Comments on Bad Monday Night Football Calls Will Make Lions Fans Punch a Wall
By Mark Powell
Lions fans, we're sorry. Reliving a nightmare will not change your fate.
Detroit was flat-out robbed on Monday night, and we don't feel promiscuous or reactionary for suggesting such debauchery. The officiating crew missed several obvious calls in Green Bay on a national stage, proving once and for all how incompetent those called upon to decide what is right and wrong in meaningful football games are. It was a joke.
Aaron Rodgers, for one, doesn't seem to mind. And why should he?
“I think it equals out pretty good over the years,” Rodgers said.
Do they Aaron?
This is the second time this season the Lions have been victimized by bizarre and circumstantial officiating errors. While we aren't ones to call conspiracy without evidence, Lions fans have every right to question whether or not the league has their best interests at heart.
The NFL does not benefit by keeping the Lions out of the playoffs, and suggesting they have the power or influence to do so without being noticed is naive. However, countless errors in big spots by professional officials at the supposed highest level of the sport is unacceptable, period. Detroit's been on the short end of the stick several times now.
Considering he plays for the Lions' division rival, we don't expect Rodgers to relate to their struggle.
