Rumors have swirled that the Green Bay Packers may look to draft a future replacement quarterback for 36-year-old star Aaron Rodgers. For his part, though, the veteran gunslinger doesn't seem too concerned.

When asked about a potential new young arm being brought in, Rodgers oozed confidence, saying "No matter who you bring in, they're not going to be able to beat me out anytime soon."

What makes the quote so perfect is that all signs point to him being absolutely right. Over the course of his 12 years as the Packers' starter, he's been the gold standard for quarterbacks, posting a 102.7 passer rating with 363 touchdowns in 174 games.

Even as he's entered the later years of his career, he's been superb. Rodgers has led the league in interception rate two years in a row, proving that he's a master of decision-making and ball security.

He's the starter, plain and simple.

Any quarterback who comes in behind him is going to have to heed his words. There is no easy path to unseating him from his starting role.

The message from Rodgers is clear: if the Packers want to draft a quarterback, then fine. They should just know that he's not going to see the field in the near future.
