Aaron Rodgers' Latest Tom Brady-Esque Career Prediction is Ambrosia for Packers Fans

Aaron Rodgers turned 36 years old in December. That doesn't make him a spring chicken by any measure as far as the lifespan of an NFL player is concerned, but in a recent media appearance with retired players Pat McAfee and former teammate AJ Hawk, he made it clear that his days aren't numbered.

And it's exactly what Green Bay fans need to hear in these days of such fear and uncertainty.

He made it clear on the "McAfee and Hawk" show that Green Bay means business this year. But even if things don't come up roses for the Pack in 2020, don't expect Rodgers to fade away and watch his window slam shut -- he's already pumping himself up to keep playing into his 40s just like Tom Brady and Drew Brees.

“I’m not some cliché guy that’s going to talk about taking it year by year. Of course, you look at what Tom’s doing and still able to play at his age and play at a high level, and obviously what Drew has done and Phil [Rivers] getting an opportunity to keep rolling in Indy," he said. "My thing is, legacy is really important. Having an opportunity to do it all in Green Bay would mean a lot to me."

That last bit, even more than the meditation on longevity, is perhaps the most appetizing part of all this for Packer fans. In a time in which Brady suddenly plays for the Buccaneers and Rivers is a Colt, Aaron Rodgers has no desire to wear any other uniform, even after his current contract ends at age 40.

No, AR12 isn't getting any younger. But to hear his outlook on where he stands today and what the next handful of years could look like, there's no reason not to be as encouraged as ever.
