Aaron Rodgers Made One Promise to Matt LaFleur After the Packers Win Over the Bears
By Sean Facey

The 2019 NFL season-opening matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears was a massive dud. In what could only be described as a defensive struggle, the Packers prevailed 10-3 despite an absymal performance from star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
He finished the game having completed just 18 of his 30 passes for a modest 203 yards and a touchdown. By Rodgers' standards, it was atrocious.
So, in a show of respect to new head coach Matt LaFleur, the 35-year-old veteran kept the ball after the final kneel down to run out the clock, handed it to his coach and said, "I'm going to be a lot better going forward."

Those are the exact words both LaFleur and Packers fans love to hear. Rodgers isn't one to break promises. If he's vowed to improve on Thursday's mediocre performance, then the league might be in some serious trouble.
Even after their sub-par offensive showing, expectations are still sky-high for LaFleur's offense. With him running the show and Rodgers under center, it seems inevitable that they'll make a departure from the perpetual under-performance that plagued the team when Mike McCarthy was head coach.

In all honesty, this was probably the worst things could have gone. The Bears came into the season with arguably the best defense in the league. The points weren't there, but the offense still managed to get the job done.
If Rodgers' 91.4 passer rating from Thursday is rock bottom, then the Packers will be in great shape for the season.
