Aaron Rodgers Not Being a Jerk is a Big Reason His Offensive Line Has Done Great Job Protecting Him
By Andy Loughmiller
Offensive linemen are often the forgotten heroes of successful NFL teams. They rarely get the credit they deserve. However, that isn't the case with the 2019 Green Bay Packers.
The Packers put together their best offensive performance of the season in Week 7. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has received praise from just about everyone for his six-touchdown game, but Rodgers wanted to make sure that his linemen get their fair share of attention, and they appreciate it.
Rodgers has made it a point to compliment his linemen both personally and in press conferences, and the big fellas up front have noticed. And that's good news, becaus nobody wants to block for a diva quarterback who thinks they are the only reason their team wins (or loses).
Sure, the Green Bay signal-caller's nonchalant attitude can occasionally be perceived as indifference, but their are several examples of Rodger's being a good guy off the field. This shouldn't come as a total surprise.
The Packers' success this season will be dependent on Rodger's performance on the field and not how friendly he is with teammates in the locker room. However, he will be at his best when he is protected, and the rapport he's built with his offensive linemen will go a long way in ensuring that keeps happening.
