Aaron Rodgers not expected to play during the 2024 preseason
For those of us who were fired up to see Aaron Rodgers get back on the field in August, well, we're going to have to wait a bit longer. That's because AR12 isn't going to be putting the pads on until the season-opener in early September.
While speaking to the media, head coach Robert Saleh said that his standout quarterback is not expected to play in the preseason. Rodgers is still recovering from his torn Achilles and it looks like the Jets don't want to rush him out too soon.
This is in no way a setback for Rodgers, but it just seems like the Jets want to be extra careful with the future Hall-of-fame QB. Rodgers was supposed to have a huge 2023 in New York, but he tore his Achilles early on in the Week 1 tilt with the Bills. Rodgers is now hoping to bounce back in a big way in '24 and we'll get our first look at him come Sept. 9 vs. the 49ers on Monday Night Football.
