Aaron Rodgers Provides Update on Packers' Offense and Fans Should Be Pumped
By Jerry Trotta
Be honest, did you really think that an offense being conducted by Aaron Rodgers' mind and right arm would fall short of expectations in 2019?
Well, that was the talk for much of the offseason, with several reports surfacing on the two-time MVP's displeasure with the freedom, or lack thereof, that new head coach Matt LaFleur was granting him at the line of scrimmage.
Fast forward to late August, however, and Rodgers himself feels as though the Green Bay Packers' offense is starting to hum in recent practices.
If that's not a sight for the sore eyes of the Cheesehead faithful, we don't know what is. Introducing a new offensive scheme would be a challenge for any veteran, even one as brilliant as Rodgers. After all, Mike McCarthy's system was engraved in his skull for 13 years from 2006-2018.
From the surface, the seven-time Pro-Bowler (finally) seems genuinely pleased with the tempo and efficiency of the offense. He even went out of his way to compliment third-year tailback and potential breakout candidate, Aaron Jones.
It's still highly likely that Rodgers will sit out Thursday's preseason finale against the Chiefs, leaving him without having played a snap in the four games, but Green Bay buffs should be OK with that likelihood after coming to terms with this reassuring update from No.12.
