Aaron Rodgers Shows Love for New Packers Guard Billy Turner
By Will Fowler
Things have been pretty weird in Green Bay lately. Beef between the former head coach and the star quarterback, ex-players speaking out against the current management, and a disappointing 6-9-1 record that saw the Packers out of the postseason for the second straight year has led to some much-needed change.
It seems some of that change may already be resonating well with Aaron Rodgers, as he lauded offseason signing Billy Turner as a major part of the relaunch.
The Packers' issues up front have been well-documented since the departures of players like T.J. Lang, Bryan Bulaga and Josh Sitton. Green Bay has just never seemed to find the right combination of bodies to protect Rodgers, including a season ago, when he was sacked the fifth-most times out of any quarterback in the NFL.
The Packers may have found a crucial piece to the puzzle in Turner, who was drafted in the third round by the Dolphins in 2014. The former Bronco was signed in the offseason on a four-year, $28 million deal, a contract that could end up being a steal in the long run if Rodgers' praises are accurate.
