It seems like nothing can go right for the Blue Jays this season. They sit at 21-32 on the year, and it looks like they are going to lose one of their best pitchers to a similar malady to the ones he's fought in the past.

The team is reporting that pitcher Aaron Sanchez has suffered a right middle finger nail avulsion in the game against the Rays.

Sanchez has been solid for Toronto this season, posting a 3.79 ERA with 55 strikeouts. He had given up one run in three innings against the Tampa Bay before he left the game with his injury.

It's not clear how long the Blue Jays pitcher will be out due to this injury. However, it does not sound pretty and is definitely not something you should google.

For someone who's long dealt with lingering blisters, the inability to properly grip the baseball is nothing new to Sanchez.

The Blue Jays are seven games out of the AL Wild Card standings and are likely to going to miss the playoffs. However, it is sad to see Sanchez suffer an injury after having one of his better seasons in recent years.

Hopefully for Sanchez, the injury is not as gruesome as some imagine it to be, and he can return to the mound swiftly.
