Adalberto Mondesi may not be a household name yet, but he is making strides to become one of the next young superstars in the MLB. Entering June 1, Mondesi had 42 RBI, putting his name in the Kansas City Royals record books next to some elite company.

Mondesi tied George Brett on the All-Time list, a player who is regarded as one of, if not the best Royals to ever play the game. On top of this impressive feat, Mondesi also notched his eighth triple of the year, which is the most in the big leagues and more than several teams have overall.

Speed is a key component of Mondesi's game, as his 20 stolen bases are also the most in all of baseball. He is one of the few players who is protective without relying on the long ball, and with only six home runs, it is his pure contact that allows him to drive in runs.

Mondesi has had an incredible season, and the record setting start shows just how talented this 23-year-old infielder is. Kansas City hopes that he is the start of another successful crop of prospects that could return the franchise to the postseason.
