Adam Gase Gives Weak Answer on Jachai Polite Draft Pick

The New York Jets took a franchise-altering turn this offseason with a bevy of organizational restructuring moves, including the hiring of new head coach Adam Gase.
Adam Gase has never had success as a head coach, yet the Jets took a shot on him. Another sign of organizational turmoil came with Gase's quote regarding third-round pick Jachai Polite.
Adam Gase, asked if there was disagreement in the draft room when the Jets took Jachai Polite in the 3rd round:

“It’s hard for me to remember what was going on during the draft."
When asked about the organizational decision to select Polite, Gase was conveniently forgetful. He claimed he could not remember draft day and the month-long process that went into selecting players in late April.
How ridiculous is that? I mean, the organization spends months preparing for the NFL Draft, and all of the sudden Gase just forgets everything about it? Never has it been more obvious that the organization disagreed on the Polite pick than his response. He basically said they disagreed without just flat out saying "yes."

That, coupled with rumors of Gase not wanting Le'Veon Bell when he was first hired, are not great starts to his New York career. Gase's management of the media has been terrible.
On the bright side, whenever some one searches "Adam Gase media," it's likely that his introductory press conference comes up instead.
And boy, is that a a great distraction for the fans. Well done, Adam Gase.
