Adam Schefter Making it Sound Like Joe Burrow Will Have to Compete for QB1 Job is Hilarious
By Andrew Gullotta
Everyone loves a good quarterback controversy, but lets not try to force it on in Cincinnati!
With the first-overall pick, the Bengals selected Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow to become the face of the franchise and transform Cincinnati back into a winner. ESPN's Adam Schefter says Burrow may have to wait to get his first start with the Bengals.
The insider said that Burrow will "challenge" for the starting quarterback job, which gives everyone the idea that he hasn't earned the nod already. By looking at the talent in the quarterback room without Burrow, this statement is almost laughable, even if the LSU product is just a rookie and new to the team.
Even though veteran Andy Dalton is still on the roster, the National Champion should have no problem outplaying him, considering the redhead lost his starting job to Ryan Finley for a time last season. The Bengals also have been shopping Dalton all offseason to try to get something in return before they inevitably cut or bench him in favor of Burrow.
All signs in Cincinnati are pointing towards Burrow having the starting job to himself, as the Bengals look to start a new winning era, and thinking otherwise is flat out hysterical.
