Adam Schefter Refutes Report Tom Brady and Bill Belichick Had a Bad Phone Call on Tuesday
By Scott Rogust

Earlier on Wednesday, reports out of Foxborough indicated that a phone call between quarterback Tom Brady and New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick "didn't go well." With social media riled up over this latest update, ESPN's Adam Schefter played the role of buzzkill for every non-Patriot fan not too long after.
Schefter refuted the various reports, saying that Brady and Belichick spoke on a a previous date (not Tuesday) and that their discussion was "business as usual."
Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have spoken recently, but those talks were not yesterday and the tone of their discussion was “business as usual”, per source. Still many questions left to answer.

This isn't the first time Schefter shot down reports this week. On Sunday, industry buzz suggested free agent right tackle Jack Conklin would sign with the New York Jets at the start of the new league year. The ESPN insider tweeted out hours later that Conklin would have various suitors and he won't sign with the Jets when free agency opens.
Brady and Belichick are known for keeping inside dealings close to their chests while redirecting the media elsewhere. Refuting reports is a common occurrence out of Foxborough.
Regardless, Brady is going to be a highly-coveted free agent this summer. The Tennessee Titans are viewed as the front-runners, while teams like the Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, and even the San Francisco 49ers are reported to be in the running.
“Business as usual” isn’t going to be a compelling overall approach to convince Brady to stay. https://t.co/yRbYK1HFe6

It won't be a matter of money for Brady, as the expectation is the 42-year-old will join a team that supplies him with offensive weapons.
Either way, nobody knows what Brady will do until he announces the decision himself. So take the reports over the next two weeks with a grain of salt.
