Adam Silver Addresses State of NBA Amid Coronavirus Outbreak in Letter to Fans
By Karl Rasmussen

The NBA has opted to indefinitely suspend its operations amid the coronavirus outbreak sweeping the United States. While fans and players have been left reeling by the bombshell decision, commissioner Adam Silver has tried to remain transparent throughout the league's decision-making process.
He continued that notion on Thursday evening when he released a letter to NBA fans to provide an in-depth update on the current state of the league, and what to expect amid the uncertainty surrounding the coming weeks.

Silver informed fans that the NBA plans to resume the season if and when it becomes safe for all parties involved.
After two members of the Utah Jazz, Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, were tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, the league announced its indefinite suspension.
Jazz star Donovan Mitchell has tested positive for the coronavirus, league sources tell ESPN. Jazz players privately say that Rudy Gobert had been careless in the locker room touching other players and their belongings. Now a Jazz teammate has tested positive.

Silver, earlier on Thursday, admitted it was a possibility that the league's regular season would be canceled. That spurred a major reaction from fans, and it latest comments seem to be taking a more cautiously optimistic stance.
As Silver mentions, more information about the virus is being discovered with each passing day, and until there is more to be known, the league can only provide fans with so much of an update.
