Adam Vinatieri Fuels Retirement Rumors With Mysterious Postgame Comments
By Michael Luciano

Could this be the last act for the man who has scored more points than any player in NFL history?
46-year-old Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri struggled mightily during the Colts' 19-17 win over the Tennessee Titans, missing two extra points. Based on his cryptic statement about an "announcement" that he will make Monday, some are speculating that the end is near for Vinatieri.

Reporter: Tomorrow is day off. We don't see you.
Vinatieri: “Yeah, you will.”

Vinatieri, who has literally been doing this since before some current players were born, as he debuted in 1996, has been a liability this season. The man with the record for points, field goals made and consecutive makes, has missed two kicks inside of 30 yards and four extra points this year, which have led to the Colts being involved in two tight games early on.
It's sad that the greatest kicker who ever lived might go out like this.
Last three games, Adam Vinatieri has missed four PAT's and two field goals of even shorter distance: 23 and 29 yards.

If this truly is the end, then Vinatieri is a surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer.
