It only seemed fitting for the Atlanta Braves to pass on Arizona State outfielder Hunter Bishop with the ninth overall pick. Why? Because he was taken with the very next selection by the San Francisco Giants, his hometown team.

Bishop grew up in Palo Alto, California, which is just outside of San Francisco, so naturally he grew up as a Giants fan. If you don't believe me, check out this adorable photo of young Bishop in his favorite team's gear.

Bishop was born and bred as a Giants fan, and as you can see from that photo, he looks awesome in the team's orange and black color-way.

The former Sun Devil will have some massive shoes to fill. He's already drawn comparisons to Barry Bonds due to being a left-handed hitter with a ton of power who plays in the outfield. Oh yeah, and they both went to Arizona State.

While Bishop still has to prove himself to the team and fanbase, selecting a talented ballplayer who happens to be a fan of the organization is a great way to start the draft. Just look at the photos from his childhood, little did he know then that his future would have him wearing those colors for a living.

Despite the lofty expectations placed on Bishop, the Arizona State star seems poised to excel through the minors and bring his bat to the Giants' lineup sooner than later. It will be interesting to watch his development at the professional level.
