MLB Network is airing AJ Hinch's first interview with the media after the fallout of the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal Friday at 6:00 p.m. ET on MLB Tonight.

As a prelude, they showed a short clip on the show on Thursday night as well, and there are already quotes to take and dissect from the small excerpt fans were given.

Hinch said in the excerpt that he "can't pinpoint what advantages or what happened otherwise" regarding his team stealing signs. What he means is that he heard the trash can banging, but he doesn't know what advantages his team got out of it.

Ridiculousness. That's what that comment is. His team won the 2017 World Series and he fails to see the advantages his team received from stealing pitchers' signs? Their home-road splits are enough evidence to identify their gains, but Hinch would rather not acknowledge such things.

Some were hopeful that Hinch would accept blame for the scandal and act professionally, but this comment serves as a bad omen for what's to come in the full segment on Friday.

Hinch needs to take more responsibility for what happened underneath him in 2017. Speaking in hypotheticals doesn't do anyone any good.
