AJ Pierzynski Gets Absolutely Ripped on Twitter for His Yankees-Astros Broadcast
By Parker White
The New York Yankees took on the Houston Astros on Saturday and it was nationally televised on FOX. So, instead of hearing Michael Kay and David Cone, Yankee fans got to listen to former big league catcher A.J. Pierzynski.
Let's just say they weren't impressed or thrilled he was on the broadcast.
Of course, I'm sure Astros fans weren't enjoying him on TV, either, especially when he was taking shots at Alex Bregman.
Yankee fans weren't pleased either, as he kept mentioning the short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium whenever the Bronx Bombers homered, but didn't on the Yordan Alvarez homer.
What about when he said the Yankees need to look out for the Boston Red Sox, who are now eight games back in the division? I mean, there is still plenty of season left for them to turn it around, but the Red Sox aren't exactly tearing it up right now -- the Yankees are.
Pierzynski, a former catcher himself, also didn't know the catcher interference rules. How is that possible? You haven't been out of the league that long.
Unfortunately for most fans, they'll have to continue to listen to Pierzynski on the FOX broadcasts. Hopefully, he can take these criticisms and work on it, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
