Now that the game's greatest prize has been sent to the Beltway, it's officially award season in baseball.

BBWAA announced the finalists for manager and rookie of the year, as well as Cy Young on Monday night. Of course, the grandest of them all, MVP, was included in the mix.

The race between Christian Yelich and Cody Bellinger for NL MVP was apparent until September, but when the former went down for the season, the Dodgers slugger was considered the obvious choice for the award. However, Rendon's emergence towards the tail end of the season might put him in the mix as well.

The AL MVP is much of the same story. Semien is a great player, but Bregman and Trout are considered the frontrunners for the award.

Trout had been the runaway winner, but a season-ending injury limited his output towards the end of the year, and the Angels missed the postseason by a wide margin. Bregman's team success could give him the edge, even though Trout's individual accomplishments loom larger.

The winner of both awards will be announced on Nov. 14.
