Tuscaloosa devotees were dealt some shocking news this week when it was confirmed that veteran Alabama strength coach Scott Cochran would be abandoning his 12-year post to join forces with Kirby Smart and Georgia.

That news became much more stunning after it was revealed that Cochran spurned the Crimson Tide in favor of a move to Athens on a pay cut.

Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide undoubtedly have revenge on their minds. Let's brainstorm a few ways that Alabama can get back at its bitter SEC rival.

3. Poach Georgia Assistant DB's Coach Charlton Warren

Does Alabama need another defensive backs coach? Not necessarily, but who wouldn't endorse a petty war between the SEC schools? Poaching Charlton Warren from Smart would serve as a direct form of revenge for Cochran's untimely departure.

2. Set the Tone in the 2021 Recruiting Cycle

There's no denying that Georgia has overtaken Alabama in terms of dominating the world of recruiting. The Bulldogs have ranked No. 1 in that department in two of the last three cycles, including 2020. Clemson and Ohio State have jumped out to hot starts by landing touted recruits from the 2021 class already. There's no doubt that Saban and Smart will have their sights set on the same players. There aren't many better W's than a recruiting victory for the SEC powerhouses.

1. Continue to Dominate the Bulldogs on the Gridiron

Alabama is undefeated against the Bulldogs since 2008. What better way to get revenge on Georgia for poaching a beloved assistant than to continue to kick the snot out of the Dawgs on the gridiron? The two illustrious programs will meet in September in Tuscaloosa, and you just know that Saban will have his squad counting down the days until that matchup.
