Alabama LB Eyabi Anoma Not Attending Classes as Future Falls Into Doubt
By Michael Luciano
After only one season in Tuscaloosa in which he rarely saw the field, former 5-star recruit Eyabi Anoma is reportedly all but done at Alabama.
The pass-rusher who hails from Baltimore is reportedly no longer attending classes at the school, hinting that he's played his last down of football for Nick Saban.
The 6-5, 235-pound defensive end chose Alabama over Florida, Michigan, and the in-state option in Maryland. Anoma recorded juts nine tackles last season, almost all of which came against backups in the fourth quarter of Alabama blowouts.
Anoma put his name in the transfer portal earlier this offseason, but soon rescinded it. He recorded three tackles and a sack in Bama's A-Day game.
With Christian Miller now a Carolina Panther, Anoma figured to get some time as a backup behind Anfernee Jennings and Terrell Lewis. However, the prospect of waiting behind more NFL bodies for another season in Tuscaloosa didn't interest 2018's No. 4 overall player, and he'll likely suit up elsewhere this year.
