Amid all the heat and pageantry in the run up to the massive SEC clash between Alabama and LSU, the health of Tua Tagovailoa was always hanging low over the proceedings.
Fortunately for the Crimson Tide faithful, however, head coach Nick Saban said Saturday morning on ESPN's "College GameDay" that the superstar QB was on track to play against the Bayou Bengals barring any late-breaking setbacks.
Nick Saban, on College GameDay, on Tua Tagovailoa (ankle): "If he feels good in pregame and we don't have a setback, I think he'll be able to play."

That's just about the best news the Tuscaloosa faithful could have hoped for.
An ankle injury has dragged on Tua for over a month, and he underwent surgery in early October. As recently as Friday, he was considered a game-time decision, so Saban's update may as well be met with a angelic trumpeting.

The high-powered LSU offense must be met with an opponent that can match them blow for blow, and Bama cannot be expected to do so without their star gunslinger. College football fans deserve a pair of teams at full strength in this No. 1 versus No. 2 matchup--fingers ought to be crossed that the kid's ankle keeps holding up.
