VIDEO: Alabama's Henry Ruggs Says WRs Play Rock, Paper, Scissors to Decide Who Runs TD Routes
By Ryan Giglio

As arguably the single best program in college football, many would assume that anything Alabama does is strategically planned by legendary head coach Nick Saban. But that may not be the case, according to junior wideout Henry Ruggs, who revealed that he and his fellow receivers sometimes play rock, paper, scissors to determine who gets to run a designed touchdown route.

Ruggs revealed the secret after juniors Jerry Jeudy and DeVonta Smith were seen playing the game before a play last week in Alabama's win over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.

Jeudy evidently won that battle and finished with six receptions for 96 yards and two touchdowns in the game.
Though he wasn't seen participating in rock, paper, scissors himself, Ruggs definitely made his presence felt on the field, too.

The speedster collected four catches for a whopping 148 yards and two scores, including an electric 75-yard connection with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Ruggs' 21 career touchdown receptions place him second all-time in the Bama record books.
Nobody can argue with the success that Saban and the No. 2 Crimson Tide have experienced in recent years. So, while this particular strategy seems odd, it's clearly working.
