VIDEO: Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy Has Amazing Explanation for His Star of David Necklace at NFL Combine
By Michael Luciano
Alabama and non-Alabama fans alike were confused when star Crimson Tide wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was spotted with a Star of David necklace during their bowl game victory against Michigan. At the NFL Combine, Jeudy finally gave some clarity as to why he broke out what for him is a really odd choice of jewelry. He claims that he wears the necklace due to his nickname on the team of "Jeu." He was also quick to remind everyone that he is not Jewish, however.
Glad that's squared away.
Jeudy weighed in at 193 pounds and stood 6-1 at the Combine, which is about what was expected of him physically. The Biletnikoff Award winner was once a lock for WR1 in this class, but he has been facing some stern competition of late from Oklahoma star CeeDee Lamb and his own teammate in Alabama speedster Henry Ruggs.
Given his rare ability to get separation at the line of scrimmage and contort his body to make catches, Jeudy is still WR1 on most NFL draft boards.
Odd choice of jewelry aside, Jeudy is still poised for a dominant Combine showing that cements his status as a Top 10 pick in the draft.
Good luck in the NFL, Jeudy. L'Chaim!
