Albert Almora Speaks Out Again After Terrifying Foul Ball and Pledges Respect for Family's Wishes
By Adam Weinrib

Two days after Albert Almora Jr.'s 2019 season was forever defined by a hard line drive that left his control, the outfielder regrouped and shared more of his thoughts and reflections prior to Friday's game against the Cardinals.
Almora reiterated that he's been blown away by the support for him in the wake of a tragic liner that struck a young female fan in Houston, but made sure to note that there's another group of people towards which your sympathies should be directed.
An emotional Almora spoke on the foul ball and said he hopes nothing like this ever happens again and is respecting the family's request for privacy on the status of young fan.

He said he's been blown away by the amount of support he's received, but reiterated it's not about him
Almora Jr. has repeatedly expressed remorse, while allowing teammates like Kris Bryant to fervently fight for increased netting in his honors, in an effort to make sure this is the final time such an incident occurs.
Of course, in the wake of the accident, Cubs fans everywhere have only fallen deeper in love with Almora Jr. and his kind heart.
We named our last pup Wrigley, and now this is Almora.

Someday, perhaps, we'll realize that "paying attention to the game" doesn't always equate to "staring straight ahead at the batter at all times," and the league will install the netting we desperately need.
Until then, Almora Jr. will be here as a cautionary tale, pleading for peace and quiet for a family in need.
