Aledmys Diaz Has Setback in Recovery From Hamstring Issue
By Charles Nason

Astros shortstop Aledmys Díaz has been plagued this season by a hamstring strain he sustained in early May. After being reinserted into Houston's lineup, Díaz reaggrevated the same hamstring on May 26 in a matchup against the Red Sox.
On Sunday, Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow gave us yet another unpleasant update on Díaz's injury. While there isn't much detail behind Luhnow's statement, it doesn't sound great for the spark plug infielder.
Jeff Luhnow said on the Astros pre-game radio show that Aledmys Díaz had a setback today in his rehab from his left hamstring strain.

Díaz has been active in his road to recovery, but it seems as though that may have extended his time on the shelf. With this unknown setback furthering Díaz's hamstring complications, his return date for the Astros becomes more unclear.
The 28-year-old utility infielder is far from the only effective player on the Astros' injured list. Right fielder George Springer and second baseman José Altuve also remain on the injured list, both sidelined with hamstring issues of their own.

Although it looked on Sunday morning as though Díaz was running well through the injury, Luhnow's report suggests that this type of activity may have made things worse. Depending on how bad of a setback Díaz experienced in his recovery, his return may be much further down the road than the Astros originally expected.
