Alex Bregman Building Dark Horse MVP Case for Himself as Hot Streak Continues
By Jared Kish

Talk about making a leap forward at the perfect time!
Alex Bregman has been on a massive hot streak of late for the Astros, as he continues to throw his name in the ring for MVP while everyone's attention is focused elsewhere. Smashing two home runs on Sunday against Texas, the Astros third basemen has led the way for the team as of late, during a stretch of eight victories in nine games.
Bregman is currently batting .277 and has 12 big flies on the season. He has consistently been raising his batting average over a stretch of 15 games, where he has recorded 13 hits, eight home runs, and 18 RBI, including the two dingers he hit on Mother's Day.

Theres no doubt that Bregman is one of the best third basemen in the league. He has been a force for the Astros since his debut, and does everything well on both sides of the ball. This makes Bregman one of the best players to watch and a viable MVP candidate.
Last year, Bregman was overlooked as an option for MVP. He led the MLB in doubles with 51, batted an impressive .286, and had an OPS of .926. Bregman also played in 157 of 162 games last season. Certainly MVP-type numbers.
Fast forward to this year, and Bregman has been one of the hottest hitters in a lineup full of sluggers. He ranks fourth in WAR as well at 2.3, just behind his teammate George Springer.

Mike Trout and Mookie Betts better keep their eyes peeled as Bregman continues his hot streak. The counting stats could look even shinier by end of season.
