VIDEO: Alex Bregman Carrying Bat All the Way Past 1st Base After Game 6 Homer is Legendary
By Scott Rogust
The Washington Nationals held a lead over the Houston Astros for about half an inning in World Series Game 6. That ended in the bottom of the first, as Astros third baseman and superstitious dude Alex Bregman hit a go-ahead solo home run off Nationals ace Stephen Strasburg to give Houston a 2-1 lead on Tuesday night. With Major League Baseball fully embracing their "Play Loud" campaign, Bregman chose a unique way to pimp his homer. While watching the ball head into the stands of Minute Maid Park, Bregman rounded first base with his bat still firmly in hand.
It looked as though Bregman was handing the bat off to first base coach Don Kelly, but he never got the pregame memo.
Alex Bregman set the tone. Now it's only a matter of time until someone carries their baseball bat around the bases after hitting a home run. It's going to happen at some point, trust us.
