Trainer Alex Guerrero Shuts Down Tom Brady Departure Rumors and Insists He Could Play Until He's 47

If 2019 has given us anything to slight the New England Patriots, it has been the alarming inconsistency of their offense. Though he's shown flashes of excellence, it's absolutely fair to say that father time is starting to slow down Tom Brady.
Through nine games, the 42-year-old has compiled 2,536 passing yards, good for ninth in the NFL, and 14 touchdowns (13th in the league), to go with a 58.3 QBR, a mark that also ranks 13th among quarterbacks.
Despite that palpable regression, Brady's trainer, Alex Guerrero, came out and asserted that the three-time MVP could play until the age of...wait for it...47!
"It all comes to commitment, really," Guerrero said during an appearance on The Greg Hill Show on Thursday. "No one thought you could play at the elite level in your late 30s, early 40s. That is something we always felt we could do. I have really wanted to be there to help him accomplish that goal. I certainly do believe that 45 is a very realistic goal."
"We talk about it all the time," he continued. "Every year he just adds another year. He goes in and he’s like, ‘Guys, I feel so good still. I think I am going to go till 45.’ I am like, ‘OK.’ Now he’s like, ‘Alex, I think I can go like 46 or 47.'"
And that sound you hear is every football fan outside of Foxborough breaking the sound barrier in an impassioned diatribe.
Honestly, is there any evidence to suggest that Guerrero's claims are that outlandish? At 42, Brady obviously isn't the quarterback he once was, but those aforementioned numbers are more than capable of leading a team to a Super Bowl if other variables (defense and run game) are accounted for.
Despite the recent rumors that Brady could continue his football career outside of New England, Guerrero's latest comments have put an end to those inklings, and even suggested that Brady's tenure in the league could extend another five seasons.
