VIDEO: Alex Verdugo Showed up to Red Sox Camp in the Absolute Worst Fit
By Michael Luciano
Alex Verdugo hit .294 with 12 home runs last year, yet he might have more eyes on him than anyone else in Boston Red Sox Spring Training. The headliner of the deal that sent Mookie Betts and David Price to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Verdugo made his first appearance in Fort Myers, and he made it painfully clear that he isn't exactly destined for a career as a runway model.
Verdugo, who might not even be ready for the start of the season due to a back injury, did show signs of an infectiously loud and positive personality, which should play well in a veteran clubhouse provided that he is producing and the team keeps winning.
Through no fault of his own, Verdugo, a childhood Red Sox fan, has a LOT to prove before Boston and their fans will accept him as one of their own. Given his questionable fashion sense, let's just hope that he's much better with a bat in his hands.
