This Starter Won’t Be Back With the Chicago Bears in 2021

The Chicago Bears' trade for Nick Foles proved that they are desperate to showcase something that resembles competence on offense in 2020 after an egregious campaign last year, one in which they finished 29th in the NFL in both points and yards per game.

Though things can only get better (you would think!) for the Bears, it might already be too late to persuade No. 1 wide receiver Allen Robinson to return to the Windy City when he hits free agency in 2021.

Robinson is one of the most talented wideouts in the league, and anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't watched him play. In 2015, the Penn State product posted 80 receptions for 1,400 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns with Blake Bortles as his quarterback in Jacksonville. Flash forward to 2019, and Robinson was back to logging elite numbers with another questionable gunslinger in Mitchell Trubisky under center. For the year, he hauled in 98 receptions for 1,147 yards and seven scores.

Teams were reluctant to sign the former Pro Bowler after he suffered a torn ACL with the Jaguars early on in the 2017 season, and understandably so. Eventually, Robinson landed with Chicago the following March on a reasonable three-year, $42 million deal.

The 26-year-old stud returned to form in 2019 after a pedestrian debut campaign with the Bears, and you better believe that he is itching to get the upcoming season over with as soon as possible so he can test free agency and sign with a team that could maximize his potential.

Don't be shocked if 2020 ends up being A-Rob's last season at Soldier Field.
