Alshon Jeffery's Season Could Be Over Following Monday Night Football Injury
The bad injury news just won't stop for Philly. Alshon Jeffery went down Monday night with a non-contact injury, and fans immediately feared the worst. At that point, it left the Philadelphia Eagles with two healthy receivers in a crucial game.
The team ended up pulling out a victory, but may have lost Jeffery for the year in the process.
Jeffery joins DeSean Jackson and Nelson Agholor as injured Eagles receivers. To hurt the offense even more, Lane Johnson left Monday's game with an injury as well. While Johnson could return in the near future, we may have to wait until 2020 to see AJ suit up again.
Things were so bad on MNF for Philly that Josh McCown almost took the field at receiver. No, we're not making that up.
The offense will now rely on the likes of Greg Ward and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, in addition to Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert at tight end.
The lack of talent at receiver showed Monday night. A move either has to be made or the Eagles need to get creative on offense with Jeffery out. That does not mean lining McCown up on the outside.
