Alshon Jeffery Wiping Social Media Clean Could Prove Eagles Trade is Imminent
By Mark Powell
If it wasn't certain before the NFL Draft, Alshon Jeffery is on his way out of Philadelphia.
Jeffery's contract is a burden, and now that Philly can't get any draft capital for his services, they're likely trying to find any way to save face and cut bait. The 30-year-old can still play, but after the Eagles drafted the likes of Jalen Reagor and traded for Marquise Goodwin (formerly of the 49ers), a move is certain to happen soon.
Jeffery's Instagram account has straight up been deleted, while his Twitter masthead has no mention of the Eagles. Whether this has been the case for quite some time or just occurred is a moot point, though. Jeffery is soon to be a *former* Eagle, and with it Carson Wentz will lose a former Pro Bowl weapon.
Jeffery was a key cog in the Eagles' Super Bowl-winning team, but the two sides have grown apart of late. With the Draft now complete, Philly can focus on finding Jeffery a new home based on which receiver-needy team will meet their asking price.
